AGARTALA / LONDON, Feb 3 (TIWN) : MP Jiten Chowdhury in London along with 8(eight) other MP colleagues from both Houses of the Parliament, representing BJP, TDP, DMK, RSP, BJD, Congress and CPI(M) and had a meet with experts at BBC HC. The delegation interacted with the British counterparts, Government, Scholars and Students on several issues like climate change, urban infrastructure, public health and developments in West Asia etc. His MP Colleagues were Rajani Patil (Maharashtra), Dr. Heena Gavit(Maharashtra), Alak Sanjar(MP) and Kumari Selja(Haryana).
The MP Team visited BBC Head Quarter. Mrs. Juliana, the Head of BBC Languages Service has explained about the functioning of BBC worldwide. BBC has services in 29 languages, both Television and Radio. UK Government does not have any control over BBC. As Juliana claimed that BBC never air any story unless truthed by two sources and never says "our country (UK), our British Army or our Prime Minister" and had interacted with Mrs. Priti Patel(Minister-in-charge for Employment) at Parliament House. She has admitted the fact of growing unemployment in UK and European Union countries due to prevailing economic crisis. UK shall review their decision on strict ring visa problem of Indian students after completion of their courses.
Today's talks were 'URBAN ISSUES AND BUILDING SMART CITIES : LONDON AS A PORTAL TO BRITAIN AND THE WORLD by Mr. Philipp Rode(Executive Director of LSE Cities and Senior Research Fellow of London School of Economics and Political Science) and "HEALTH CARE IN 21ST CENTURY by Prof. Richard Sullivan(Director, Institute of Cancer Policy and KHP Integrated Cancer Centre, Global Health Work). Dr. Sullivan has admitted Cuba's Health Management is better than many developed countries.
