AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): Though the Bishalgarh gas bottling plant gets refilled 24 trucks of LPG cylinders per day against its installed capacity of 18 bullets, still it fails to meet the need of the people of the State. It seems like with the establishment of new gas bottling plant in the state at Budhjungnagar Industrial Estate in Jirania subdivision may successfully meet the need of the State.

Earlier talking to TIWN correspondent, official of Food Department said that altogether 24 trucks of LPG Cylinders gets refilled every day against its installed capacity of 18 bullets yet the State is facing around 20 days of backlog. Though the daily requirements are being fulfilled with the 24 refilled trucks of LPG cylinders, but the State is facing around 20 days of backlog.

However, to meet the need of the State’s public of 12 LPG cylinders in a year a boost is required which can be fulfilled after the establishment of the new gas bottling plant.

Besides, IOC is planning to install an oil depot at Shekerkut. On the other hand, earlier the State Government has demanded to IOC to provide 24 wagons.

On the other hand, despite of the introduction of the modified direct benefit transfer scheme for LPG, black marketers of domestic cooking gas cylinders making the availability of the LPG cylinder tough for the consumers of the State.

However, according to the plan, the IOC wants to establish the mega gas bottling plant by next two years. If the plant is operational, it will produce 200 trucks LPG per day.

It seems like with the establishment of the bottling plant at Budhjungnagar, the prolonged problem faced by the common mass may end.

However, once the new gas bottling plant is operational, it will be able to supply refilled LPG cylinder to outside the state also, said sources.
