AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): Despite of several complains and demands to provide notice of land acquisition for the 485 meter of non-fencing area by the locals of Shilpara, the authority is least bothered to take any initiatives. It is to be mentioned here that though several days has been passed that the locals had intentionally stopped that construction work of the non-fencing area of Shilpara under Kailashahar Sub-Division, the authorities are hot taking any initiatives alleged the locals. According to the locals of the Shilpara, the authority has not yet issued any notice of acquisition of land which has been taken from the locals for the fencing work. The agitated locals alleged that for the past one year they have been demanding for the notice of land acquisition to the administration.

They complained that the land which has been taken for the border fencing from the locals till day no notice of the compensation has been released from the administration. Therefore, they do not have any prove that they have given the land to the state government for fencing work.

Therefore, they have intentionally stopped the work until and unless the authority provides them the notice of land acquisition.

On the other hand, construction agency NBCC mentioned that they are ready with the equipments any time the authority allow them they will start the work.

The construction agency NBCC who has been looking after the construction work in the area stated that they can complete the construction work within one month but as the residents are not allowing to continue with the work it is getting delay.

However, the delay in the work of the border fencing may lead to more smuggling of cattle and other items in the area.

Reportedly, smuggling of goods goes rampant in the areas of Kailashahar in both the fencing and non-fencing areas.

It is to be mentioned that the fencing work for the 485 metre of border area are stopped on January 9. Besides, other than 485 meter of border area, fencing in all the other area of Kailashahar has been completed.
