Slow progress of Indo-Bangla border fencing work, NBCC silent

BELONIA, Jan 21 (TIWN) : Construction of fencing work from Kalinagar to Sarasima Pool No. 1 is going slow and open for smugglers. So theft cases on a rise in Belonia Town Border area. This portion of the Border is unfenced and porous making it advantageous for smugglers.

12 ft high single barbed fencing work is under construction (by NBCC). But the quality of his work is very bad as far as materials like sand, bricks, rod , cement  are concerned.

It takes more than 2 and half months to complete the whole fencing work  according to NBCC contractor .

Local people are also worried that  entire water of Belonia town passes through this way to Bangladesh. It is suspected that the construction of fencing will wash away by the force of water if the water is prevented by fencing.

There is no survey by administrative authority of the Subdivision or BSF to supervise the quality of work. Sources said that lot of resentment prevailing among people due to the poor quality of construction work of border fencing.
