AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): Although after a pause, finally the flyover construction has gain speed at Battala. With the completion of construction of the basement for pillaring at various spots the workers have begun the work of pillaring and cement casting at different spots. With the aim to finish the work in the given deadline, the agency has speed up their work. Looking forward to complete the fly over construction in the given deadline, the work is progressing in full swing. However, with the completion of the soil test and load testing at different spots, pillaring work is progressed and expanded at the Nagerjala spot. It is to be mentioned here that as Battala has an open space, the construction agency has chosen Battala to begin with the cement casting work. A total of 65 pillars will be constructed for the first ever flyover which will connect from Drop gate to fire brigade Chowmuhani. Once the cement casting for the first pillar at Battala gets complete the construction work will be expanded towards Bordowali. However, as Battala has much bigger and wider space the workers are able to carry out the construction without much hampering to the traffic movement but once the construction is expanded towards Bordowali it might turned up traffic glitch in a day to day life.

Iron frame structure for pillars is already set up with the help of steel and iron bars and cement concrete. With the ongoing days, it can be assumed that very soon the people of Tripura will get the facility of the fly over in the state.

The workers are working with full efficiency to finish the construction work in the given deadline.

However, it is to be mentioned here that Traffic congestion has now become regular scenario. With the on-going pillaring work expanded at the busiest spot of Nagerjala the issue of traffic congestions came into public eye with the regular massive traffic jam from Bordowali-Battala road, disrupting the convenient movement of traffic on the road during office and school hours. Through traffic managers are being deployed on the streets but no relief from the traffic jam.

The flyover was a long term demand of the city dwellers and it needs to be introduced soon to contain heavy traffic congestion which is increasing along with the moving hands of the clock.

Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path which is expected to reduced the traffic congestion.

The flyover is expected to bring a revolution in the state and this will be the first flyover in the state.
