Agartala, September 15(TIWN): Calling upon new blood donors to donate blood generously, Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar on September 15 said the state has earned a very important position in the country when it comes to blood collection through voluntary blood donation camp.
The blood collection was slightly reduced in the last year due to election process but this year there must be efforts to overcome the ‘backlog’ to achieve new target, he said while speaking at a blood donation camp organised by Tripura Bar Association.In his speech, Chief Minister also laid emphasis on donation of human organs posthumously. The time has come to encourage people about donation of human organs in the line of Karnataka as the state has facilities to keep human organs after coming up of two medical colleges. He said Tripura achieved the top slot across the country in terms of voluntary donation of blood but further intensification of the movement and participation of larger number of people so that the success be sustained " Many people have stressed the fact that blood donation is the noblest donation,it is truly so and people, specially youths and students should come forward enthusiastically to contribute to the society by donating blood" said Mr. Manik Sarkar.
