First BG train to pave its way to Agartala Railway station on Wednesday : Railway Ministry gears up for inaugural run

AGARTALA, Jan 13 (TIWN): Paving the way to create a history for the landlocked Tripura, North Eastern Frontier Railway Guwahati is all set to organise an inaugural program for the welcoming ceremony of the first ever trial train to Agartala Railway station on Wednesday. It is to be mentioned here that Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Railways, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Transport Minister Manik Dey to receive the BG train along with the coach on January 13 at Agartala Railway station. The train to enter the Agartala Railway station on Wednesday at approximately around 1.30 PM amidst huge cheers and enthusiasm. Due to the PM Narendra Modi’s look east policy Tripura will witness the first trial run of train in the newly converted Agartala-Badarpur BG track in the state. All this sped up work is only due to the good initiative of the central government. However, after receiving the train at the Agartala Railway station the Railway authority will also hold a press meet at Agartala Railway station.The NFR authorities expecting that if everything goes according to the project plan, the whistle of the broad gauge train will be heard on Wednesday. After a long period finally the laying and constructing of Broad Gauge (BG) Railway tracks of Mega Block conversion from Badarpur to Agartala has already been completed. Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the BG Railway map of the country. Recently, with the trial run of the engine on the newly converted broad-gauge (BG) track of Agartala-Badarpur route has created a landmark in the history of Tripura.

Developing the transportation and connectivity in the landlocked Tripura of the northeast region is one of the top most priorities of the central government. A lot of focus is being laid to enhance railway connectivity in the region.

Finally the century old and the much awaited dream of the people of the landlocked state came true when the first broad gauge engine reached at Agartala railway station. Thousands of people gathered at Agartala railway station to take a view of the first BG engine with joy and enthusiasm.

However, the wait will further meet an end when the trial run of the train will enter Agartala railway station on Wednesday.
