AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): State Government where fails to shape up the fate of Rs. 60 crore (till November 2015) of electricity bill of various Department, Power Minister recently stated to take certified cases against consumers if any of the consumers fails to clear bill with six month of tenure.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier talking to TIWN correspondent, Senior Manager of Revenue Department Falguni Biswas stated that till the month of November, 2015 a total bill of Rs. 60 crore has been figured out by the department.

It has been mentioned that despite of the Department has forwarded a detail copy of the pending bills to all the Government Department whose electricity bill crosses the limited line Rs. 1 lakh yet no response has been received.

All the Government Departments whose bill had crossed Rs. 1 lakh, the department has been sent the bill details. Besides, it has been mentioned that accept Public Sector Undertaking companies all the other Departments under State Government were sent the bill details.

However, where the state government fail to shape up the fate of Rs. 60 crores of electricity bills of different Government Department, on the other hand it claims that if any consumer fails to clear their electricity bill within six months tenure or else certified cases against consumers will be taken.

It is to be mentioned here that TSECL is supposed to give above Rs. 100 crore to OTPC. And also a huge amount to NEEPCO.

Despite the stunning figures of pending bills; the power connection to the departments cannot not be disconnected as most of their services come under the emergency category.

The Government departments with multiple connections usually don’t pay bills on a regular basis because of budgetary constraints. Most of them pay only when they are granted funds by the State government.

Therefore, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd could not shape up the fate of Rs. 60 crore which is the amount till the month of November, 2015.

On the other hand, if any one among the common mass fails to pay the bill on time the officials of the TSECL disconnect the electricity connection claiming that if the bill is not cleared than the family will not get any connection.

However, it seems that as the Department could not shape up the pending bill of Rs 60 crore, the department is set to bother the common mass.
