72 hours of deadline set by BJP for arresting the accused MLA Monaranjan Acharjee extended, BJP Ex-President Sudindra Dasgupta talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): The demand for arresting the accused expelled MLA Monaranjan Acharjee within 72 hours has been extended due to the ongoing program of the president’s election of the party, as commented by BJP ex-president Sudindra Dasgupta.

Talking to TIWN correspondent on Thrusday, BJP ex-president Sudindra Dasgupta said that they are stick to their demand but the deadline set by the party to arrest the accused within 72 hours is extended due the ongoing process of the party’s organisational election in the state.

He also said that as the party is busy in the organisational election process of the party to elect the new president and due to this the deadline for arresting the accused MLA within 72 hours is extended.

Later, Dasgupta also confirmed that with the end of the president’s election, the party will again resume their revolt to arrest the accused MLA Manoranjan Acharjee in allegation of sexually abusing the minor girl.

It is to be mentioned here that demanding the arrest of the expelled MLA Manoranjan Acharjee within 72 hours since January 4, representatives of State BJP from eight different districts placed deputation to DG K.Nagraj through the eight SP of the several districts at police Headquarter.

Demanding the arrest of the expelled MLA Manoranjan Acharjee in allegation of sexual; abuse of a minor the state BJP wings have placed deputation of DG K.Nagraj.

Reportedly, even after passage of several days, the Tripura police is yet to arrest the former CPM MLA Manoranjan Acharjee for his alleged involvement in a sexual abuse case of a minor girl and allegedly police is making intentional delay in the case.

Although Amarpur police have lodged a suo moto case against expelled CPI (M) MLA Manoranjan Acharjee with charges of molestation of a minor girl in his party office.

It is mention here that the gruesome incident took place on Nov 27 and intentionally the ruling party big heads hush up the matter and remain silent in the issue but so far no action is taken.

Although the Mother of a five and half year old girl has submitted separate written complaints to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and CPM party secretary Bijan Dhar before the election but the party remained silent over the issue. In the letter, the mother and her father alleged that MLA Manoranjan Acharjee had sexually abused her girl who used to visit him quite often.

It is worthy to mention here that police has lodged complaint against expelled MLA Manoranjan under section 354 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and protection of children from sexual abuse act, police is yet to arrest him.
