UDAIPUR, Dec 30 (TIWN): With the aim to spread awareness on heath, a daylong block level sensitization programme for PRI members, Media personnel’s and NGO’s were gathered at Udaipur Kakrabon Panchayat samiti hall on Wednesday.

However, the awareness programme was organised by Kakraban Primary health centre under the banner of the Kakraban primary health centre with the joint initiative of National Health Mission and Health and Family welfare department.

The program mainly focused on the issue to save girl child.  Gomati Zila Parishad Sabhadhipati Suniti Saha remained present in the program.

Addressing the program, Gomati Zila Parishad Sabhadhipati Suniti Saha said that saving the girl child and educating her is important. Everyone despite of being boy or a girl has the chance to live.

At least in India, the girl child has been a topic of discussions and debates for the past several decades but, even today, the position appears to remain unchanged. The girl was always an unwanted child, and was found killed at birth. With the advancement of Science and Technology this killing has only gone still further - for now the girl child is being killed even before birth.

She also said that it should be looked into that the girl child gets all the love and affection from the parents. Girls education is like sowing the seed which gives rise to green, cheerful and full grown family plant. In ancient time girl’s education had a significant place in the society.

Today’s girl child will be the mother of tomorrow. As a mother she can give her child a sound nursing and capable upbringing. A woman has the maximum impact on the social, economical decisions making in the family generally. At micro level, educated woman help in making the whole family including the older family members, understand the values and importance of education, and at macro level, educated women add to the social and economical development of the nation, added Saha.
