KAMALPUR, Dec 30 (TIWN): The year 2015 all set to be placed in the memory forever. And after a few hours, the year 2016 would be embraced with much enthusiasm and eagerness. Many dreams would be knitted up and aspirations would spread their wings. But amidst this festivity, it became sure that, the cheated depositors of Noagaon Small Savings scam would not be able to embrace 2016 happily.

And the situation became so, as the scam not got resolved. The money of the depositors not seemed to be restored shortly. And more significantly, the ruling party leaders who became hyperactive to unearth the scam at the initial stage became mysteriously silent over the issue. This year during the month of March-April the scam of Scam Savings at the Noagaon branch post office got revealed. The depositors found that, their hard-earned deposits not got entry in the records of the sub-post office. And the two employees, Branch Postmaster Anita Dey and contingency Manjugopal Bhattacharjee came under the scanner. CPI-M created much hurly-burly and staged several propagandas. The postal department initiated investigation. But at the very beginning, it got revealed that, none of the Supervisor or the Inspector performed their duties sincerely.

As a result, the investigation slowed down to save the top officials. Branch Postmaster Anita Dey had to deposit 4, 00,000 of rupees as recovery. But none of the depositors got even a single paisa. They were told that, they would get the money after completion of the investigation. And the New Year 2016 would surely not be happy one as they not became sure as to when they would get back their deposits.
