AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): It’s very common to find that Chief Minister giving long lectures on peace and non-violence. During the programme held at Pragna Bhawan on Friday, Tripura CM Manik Sarkar claimed that the state Tripura is undergoing peace, which is a rare example in the whole world but Manik Sarkar fails to mention Tripura's 4th rank in domestic violence in country.
However, it is to be mentioned here that Tripura, which reflects itself at the National level as a peaceful-small-hilly-state, but in actual, this small state which not even a place of 40 lakhs people, stands 4rth in whole India in its domestic violence against women.
Many govt. and non-govt. organizations have been built to reduce the crime against women and try to stand with the victims.
Even many awareness camps are organized, spending lots of funds to aware the society. But in this so called ‘peace land’ Tripura, the violence against women at househlds are rising day by day.
CM also claimed that the “Peace” cannot be maintained when a state is suffering from hunger, poverty, illiteracy are removed from the state. But in Tripura all these are at a rise. Tripura CM who can attend programmes held at orphanage and old age homes, never helped them financially, alleged that section of people.
When Tripura stands 4th in crime against women, the 'poorest' Chief Minister remains silent. He utters neither bad nor good about this lawless situation of state. Infact during his speeches he always scolds the system of the state, and also blames police and govt. employees for not doing their duties properly. But still Tripura’s condition is just not developing.
Everyday rapes and dowry death or such kind of domestic violence are very common here. But CM keeps on preaching over the peace and claims Tripura has successfully maintained peace, where everyday brides are burning at homes and made them silent with complete peace.
