AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Temperature to decrease more in the coming days, confirmed the meteorology department of Tripuraon Tuesday.

Detailing about today’s temperature, official of meteorology department informed that the minimum temperature is 16.6 degree Celsius. But they are unable to inform about the maximum Celsius.

There is no hope for rain, but in the coming days there is expectation of dense fog which may lead to drop in temperature, said Met Official.

Besides, he also mentioned that on December 20 the temperature may fall to 13 degree Celsius. Therefore, by the coming days the cold will increase in the state.

Further, the official mentioned that there is an expectation that the temperature will most probably fall more after December 20.

Tripura had recorded its lowest temperature in winter at 2° C in 1972.

Mostly during the winter season, life observed crippled across the state because of the chill and attendance seem to get poor in most schools and government offices. The streets wore a deserted look and business establishments were closed.

Generally, in Tripura winter starts from November. This year it has started from the month of December.

It is to be mentioned here keeping eye on the starting of winter season the bhutia market shopkeepers arrive around mid-November. But they have come earlier this year in order to avoid last minute hassles.

It becomes easier for us to secure a good place for our stalls if we arrive in the last week of October, said a young shopkeeper at the Bhutia market near orient chowmuhani.

Like every year Bhutias have already arrived in the State for selling winter clothes at Orient Chowhumani with huge amount of Woollen garments.

Every year before the onset of winter, Bhutias set shop in the city. But one of the sellers complains that their selling do not match the expectation as competition from newly emerging shopping malls has lowered their sales.

The woollens sold by the Bhutias are not only of good quality but also fashionable. Though these woollen garments are not branded products, these are of very good quality and affordable.

However, the temperature to decrease more in the coming days, Farmers need to exercise extra caution and take remedial measures. Though there are no sign of rainfall but the sudden rainfall may hamper the prolonged effort paid by the farmers.
