Movement for backward people education calls for 6-hour of road blockade

AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Movement for backward people education on Tuesday staged six hours of road blocked in various parts of the state, demanding to allow the needy students to seat for the exam in the nearby school from their coaching centre.

The blockade has been staged from morning 9 am onwards and will continue till 3 pm in the evening.

The organization has staged road blockade at Agartala - Sabroom National Highway and on Agartala – Khowai road. The area includes Ambassa, Gandacherra of Agartala - Sabroom National Highway and the other parts of the Agartala – Khowai road.

It is to be mentioned here that allegation has been raised that the State Government has been neglecting the demands for prolonged many days. Therefore, the members of movement for backward people education demanded to cancel the earlier advertisement where the drop our students have to seat for the exam according to the allocated centres.

Spokes person of the movement for backward people education, Buchung Barak said that if the Government allows the student to seat for the exam in the nearby school from their coaching centre than it would have been helpful for the students and their families, as they do not have to pay any extra money for the house where they have to stay as tenant during the exam tenure.

It has been mentioned that if the State Government allows the drop-out students to appear for the exam from near the coaching centre than they do not have to spend extra money for going t the exam centre as most f the students belongs to the poor and needy families.

Earlier on November 3 they had staged a rally against the sentimental decision taken by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education for the madhyamik drop-out S.T. students. The rally started from the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan and walked across the capital. Besides, onNovember 7 a mass demonstration as been staged by the organization.

However, as the State Government ignored their demands earlier. The organization has decided to stage road blockade in various areas of the State. It has been mentioned that altogether there are around 1, 200 students would have to suffer if the centres are not allotted near the coaching centres.

According to the members of the organization, the State Government has been ignoring the demand for prolonged many days which has lead the organization to take this step.
