AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): The facelift work for the Badharghat railway station is in full swing to give a new look to the Railway station. With the aim to give a new look to the Agartala Railway station along with BG conversion wok at Tripura, the workers have also taken up the work of renovation of the Railway station at Badharghat. Huge numbers of workers are engaged in the renovation work.

Numbers of workers are engaged in the renovation work of the Agartala railway station. Even though the authorities have focused their attention in taking up the BG conversion works of the tracks for the time being, they are also concentrating on the ways to meet the future requirements of the platform to provide the best facilities to the people. In order to make the Agartala Railway Station perfect, different works including extension of platforms, creation of new platforms and installation of new BG rail tracks have started.

The facelift is being carried out after the construction of the railway station in Agartala. Along with the BG conversion work the authorities are also concentrating on the issue to set up a modern railway station as it will cater huge number of trains in the state.Construction of the Cross bridges over the rail line at every platform of the rail stations are also constructed to ensure free movement of the passengers and to avoid any untoward incident.

The old platform has been broken and new platform are being constructed to accommodate the train. In a move to ease congestion and to accommodate more number of trains, a new platform is undergoing construction at Agartala railway station.To strengthen the traffic system, parking plot is scheduled to be constructed and one has to pay for parking vehicles at the entry of the station then. 

To maintain safety and security of the platform the authorities is taken this decision. However, the rail authority is not willing to construct an alternative entry gate to the station but it is necessary for emergency purpose and also to avoid the chaos at one particular gate.

However, as a part of the beautification of the railway station, a steam engine will also be kept at the railway station as a mark of history.

The much awaited dream of Broad-gauge track is going on in full swing at various railway tracks of Agartala.

After the successful BG (broad gauge) run of train from Lumding to Silchar the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard at much more faster pace to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016.

It is expected that the BG railway service in Tripura will bring much m ore development in the state.
