SANTIRBAZAR, Dec 13 (TIWN) : The present condition of Pilak Tourist spot is glaring example of misappropriation of funds in the name of Buddha Theme Park at Mahamuni Tilla of Pilak .Financial transparency of CPI-M led State Government again under scanner again. The uninterrupted 24 years stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Corruption in implementation of park continues. Total Rs.40 Lakh was sanction in the year 2014.Developmmnet and beautification Pilak Tourist Spot remains the same as before. Jungle like environment in all around Pilak archeological site force tourists to visit pilak .

Once Pilak is the hub of archaeological remaining dated back from 8th Century to 9th Century. Pilak defines the old glorious civilization in the north eastern part of India. Pilak represents both the Hindu and Buddhist art form.

Pilak is nestled in the lush green valley dotted with paddy-fields, sparse human habitation and occasional uplands. Pilak in South Tripura's District holds the key to Tripura's ancient history. Pilak in Tripura is a place of attraction for its archaeological remains of 8th & 9th centuries AD. Located at a distance of 100 km from Agartala in Tripura, Pilak seems like a shrine of Hindu and Buddhist art.

The Hindu and Buddhist Sculpture can be seen at its best here. The area displays numerous terracotta plaques, sealing with Supa and stone images of Avolokiteswara, including the images of Narasimhan, found there dating back to Buddhist period. The images found here reflect survival of heterodox creeds and sects portraying both Hinduism and Buddhism.

Pilak is closely associated with Mynamoti and Paharpur in Bangladesh. Recently, further excavation has been taken up by Archaeological Survey of India to know more about the region and its history.

Earlier many initiatives were taken to nurse Pilak Tourist spot but at such the people of the state experienced the ultimate result as zero. Therefore people of Pilak demand to restore its past glory to attract more Tourists to visit Pilak frequently.
