AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Former MP Khagen Das in a press meet at Party office on Saturday said that the civil society and people at large have reposed their faith on left front in the civic polls. People have democratically rejected the politics of disruption, violence and bandhs. They have voted for development. People have witnessed widespread development in the last years and has accordingly casted their votes in the election.

The victory in the municipal polls, which was billed as the semi-final before the 2018 Assembly polls, will act as a boon for the ruling party.

Khagen Das once again reiterated the slogans of development while addressing the press meet at party office.

He further said that the state has witness development only due to the support of the left front government in the state and people today with their votes have proved it right.

Further, development can come in the state only with the hand left front. Left front is the only party that can show the path of development in the land locked state of Tripura.  He also said that Left front will always stand beside the people and will always extend a helping hand to the poor section of the society.

Claiming to maintain peace and prosperity safely in the hand of the Left Front government, Das said the huge numbers of votes shows that the people are keeping their faith attached to the LF government and wants LF to govern the state.

Reiterating the call for the development of Tripura, he said that that only left front can bring development in the state. The improved transportation, drinking water facility, power service to all other basic amenities have developed in the state and the state will see many more graph of development in the coming days.

Criticizing the BJP government, Das said that "Due to communal polarisation throughout the country, a threat is looming large over secularism and democracy. BJP, after achieving majority, has sped up this communal polarisation.

He also said that BJP, which is controlled by RSS, is trying to spread its ideals for creating a Hindu Rashtra. The resolution also stated that various important educational, cultural and think-tanks of the Union government have been filled with RSS loyalists.

They are trying to force ideologies of Hindutva on educational institutions. In such a situation, the minority community is feeling alienated and are suffering from identity crisis. And Islamic fundamentalists are trying to using this opportunity, said Khagen Das.
