AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): A huge mass gathering at Agartala marked the beginning of the CPI (M)’s rule in Tripura. Slogan shouting in favour of the left party, colourful rallies filled up the state. Elected to power, the Left Front on Saturday held a massive victory rally, with over 1000 members and supporters jostling for space at Agartala in the rally. It is not just the Left Front's victory. It is a fact that supporters and well-wishers of the Front have voted for us in large numbers said the supporters of the party in the rally. Amidst huge celebrations and a massive rally at Agartala city the left front candidates marked the victory rally in the state. The celebration was marked by colourful rallies by the ruling party candidates, leaders and worker and party supporters.Almost all the candidates of the ruling party and its alliance party along with RSP, Forward bloc and CPI were seen participating in the rally.With the declaration of the election results thousands of commoners joined a victory rally at Agartala making it into a huge celebration of the hard earned victory at the closely fought Tripura Municipal Corporation Elections. Bearers of red flags swarmed the rally coming in from the different part of the city. The massive rallies hold by the political parties on the major part of the city roads during the busy hours of Saturday morning leading to serious traffic chaos.

The rally witnessed high-pitched slogans in support of the left front.Women joined in a large number in the rally which saw determined commoners coming to the road to celebrate what can be touted as enormous victory of the progressive people in the land locked state of Tripura.Blocking the main way of transportation at Agartala, the left supporters were seen celebrating with slogans and dance.

On Saturday, the road of Agartala city and the nearby area were under siege all day as bikes, cars, jeeps and buses filled with left supporters parked indiscriminately on nearby lanes. Multiple rallies from various parts of city also converged here on foot. Motorists had a harrowing time negotiating the stretch.

Massive rallies with hundreds and thousands of cadres, supporters showed their presence during the victory. The participation of women was a specific seeing in the rallies.

The leaders have been campaigning in an open van in the area. Huge numbers of vehicles are stuck in the traffic jam in different areas due to victory rally of the left front. Though traffic cops have been trying to minimise the traffic in the area, the narrow by lanes of Battala, Melarmath, and Paradise chowmuhani was choked with party workers busy in celebrating their moments of victory in the state.
