Left Front maintains its grip in KMC, wins 13 seats out of 15

KAILASHAHAR, Dec 12 (TIWN): Left Front maintains its grip in Kailashahar Municipal Council election by winning 13 seats out of 15.

Altogether 13 wards have been captured by Left Front and ward number 6 and 13 has been captured by the candidates of Unayan Mancha.

Reportedly, with 344 votes candidate of Unayan Mancha of ward number 6, Nitish De won the seat. On the other hand, Kanti Lal Deb lost the election with 280 votes. Sabita Datta of ward number- 13 sweeps the other political party in the ward.

It is to be mentioned here that the Left Front Party has sweeps the Agartala Municipal Corporation Election 2015 winning 45 seats out of 49.   

However, reports from sub divisional areas of Tripura, among 13 municipal councils, Left Front captured all 13 councils and also win all six Nagar Panchayats.

The local body elections have been pegged as the 'semi-finals' ahead of the Assembly elections in 2018. The final figures for the election shows that LF has made a clean sweep in the municipal election with Left Front candidates leading in maximum seats under Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and captured all 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats across Tripura.

However, the ruling CPM has a municipality in Jirania and a few seats in Khowai and Amarpur uncontested. It has also won 10 panchayat seats in by-election uncontested.
