Prafullajit Sinha sweeps AMC election with above 3000 votes

AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Left Front Party where leads the AMC election with majority votes, Prafullajit Sinha wins in ward number- 24 with above three thousand votes on Saturday.

The Capital Agartala was founded in 1838 AD by Maharaja Krishna Kishore Manikya 1830-49 AD of Tripura State.

The Agartala Municipality was instituted in 1871 AD during the reign of Maharaja Chandra Manikya 1862-96 AD.

Supporters were observed rejoicing the moment with party flags in their hand and putting a red colour on each other.

Besides, the supporters were dancing and raising slogans in support of the Left Front party.

A total of 537,968 people, including 268,754 women, have cast their votes in the municipal elections.

The 144-year-old Agartala Municipal Corporation is the oldest municipal body in the north-eastern region. The Agartala municipality, which turned into a corporation two years back, was constituted in 1871.

There are about 5.24 lakh voters whose vote would decide the fate of 886 candidates across 657 polling booths. There was no report of any violence during the polling period and the vote was conducted peacefully in the state

Till afternoon counting has been observed peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported yet.

However, all cross the state Left Front has been leading with majority of votes.
