AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Security beefed up all across the State, in order to avoid any untoward incident on the day of counting on Saturday.

Troops of Board Security Force, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) are intensifying joint operation including patrolling along the border and keeping a close vigil on the movements of people along the border as well as in the State.

To tighten the security arrangements in the state during the crucial hours of counting for the much awaited election results on Saturday, DM West Millind Ramteke, SDM Manik Lal Das, SP West Bijoy Nag along with other representatives of the political parties and officials had hold a meeting at DM office on December 12.

Besides, to ensure free and fair election counting on Saturday, security has been tightened in front of the Strong room. Security personnel has been deployed in an around the state to avoid any untoward incident.

However, Police patrolling das been going on regularly in various polling areas.

It is to be mentioned here that vote counting begins in all the polling areas from morning 8 am at 18 different spots.

However, till afternoon Left front party is on the winning track in maximum wards. It is expected that there would be no lack of security personnel during the counting hour. CRPF and TSR jawans would keep a strict vigil to ensure terror free counting.

During the counting huge crowd of Left Front party supporters has been observed in front of the counting booth, all set to celebrate the victory in the municipal election.
