DM west holds meeting to discuss the security arrangements for election counting

AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): To tightened the security arrangements in the state during the crucial hours of counting for the much awaited election results on December 12, DM west Millind Ramteke, SDM Manik Lal Das, SP west Bijoy Nag along with other representatives of the political parties and officials hold a meeting at DM office on Friday.

Huge security is already deployed in Umakanta School where the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are kept in strong rooms till counting of votes on December 12. The EVMs are kept in separate rooms and sealed in the presence of Returning Officer and Collector and polling agents after the completion of the vote on Wednesday.

All the polling personnel have returned from the polling booths and submitted the EVMs at all strong rooms at Umakanta School and massive security arrangements are made to avoid any untoward incident.

To ensure free and fair counting, security arrangements are massively tightened in all strong rooms of Umakanta School and DM west with all other have discussed the arrangements required to be set up for safe conduct of the counting session in the state.

All the political parties also remained present in the meeting to discuss the steps required to strengthen the security measures in the states.

Security personnel’s will be deployed in an around the state top avoid any untoward incident.

Police patrolling will be conducted regularly.

It is to be mentioned here that Vote counting will be done on December 12 and the counting will began from morning 8AM at 18 different spots.

The fate of 886 contesting candidates will be decided on Saturday as the counting of votes will takes place on Saturday under strict security. All arrangements have been made for the free and fair counting of votes.

Majority of the results are expected to be out by Saturday afternoon. The counting of ballots will start at 8-00 AM on December 12 and will end by afternoon.
