AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): This is the rarest of the rare case where the owner of the Ganadoot vernacular daily Sushil Choudhury was the main architect of the killing of three people and where it was a pre-planned and tactful murder, the decision of the HC, has sent a shock waves to the entire state. Three employees of 'Danik Ganadoot', a vernacular daily were killed inside the newspaper office premises at Palace Compound in the heart of the city on May 19, 2013 allegedly by Sushil Chowdhury but the lacklustre attitude and loopholes of investigation in the case has finally made it successful to release the culprit behind the bars.Talking to TIWN correspondent, advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas said that police could not bring any hardcore allegations against Sushil Chowdhury and court was bound to release him from the jail. However, it is also to be mention here that earlier during an investigation police was also trapped in the question of the judge where police could not give any response to the evidence related to the murder case.

Dainik Ganadoot editor-cum-owner Sushil Choudhury who emerged as the sole accused in the murder of three employees on the premises of the Bengali daily in Agartala on May 19 was released from the jail due to lack of evidence against the accused.

Question arises where once Police claimed in the charge sheet submitted to a court on that no ‘outsider’ was involved in the murders of newspaper manager Ranjit Choudhury, proof reader Sujit Bhattacharjee and driver Balaram Ghosh, inside the office at Palace Compound how police could not get any evidence against the accused and on what grounds was he released from the jail.

However, a local court awarded life imprisonment till death to a newspaper editor-cum-owner in a year-old triple murder case. Kripankur Chakraborty, additional district and session’s judge of West Tripura district, also slapped a fine of Rs.70, 000 on 73-year-old Sushil Choudhury, the editor-cum-owner of Bengali daily 'Dainik Ganadoot'. The judge awarded the rigorous life imprisonment till his (Choudhury) death for murdering three of his employees May 19, 2013 and despite the HC division bench has released him from jail due to lack of evidence against the accused.

The court on Thursday found Choudhury acquitted of the triple murder under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.

However, now question arises on the role of the police, what have police done for last 2 year?

Interestingly question still remains if Choudhury is not found guilty of the murder who is the actual culprit behind the murderer of this gruesome incident.
