PCC Chief Birajit Sinha alleges rigging in the election process by CPI-M cadres

AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): Whether by rigging, snatching or scattering votes, or provoking voters, the ruling party cadres used a variety of vote-rigging tricks to interfere with voting process and disrupted the smooth conduct of the election in many wards alleged PCC chief Birajit Sinha on Wednesday. Talking to TIWN correspondent ofn Wednesday evening,PCC President Birajit Sinha said that the ruling party hooligans in many ways adopted the process of rigging to disrupt the smooth conduct of the election in many spots of the state. Vote rigging is illegal interference with the process of an election. Sinha further said that acts of fraud would affect vote counts on election result, whether by increasing the vote share of the favoured candidate, depressing the vote share of the rival candidates.Despite of the fraud activities at different spot at Agartala, Ambassa, Mohanpur PCC Chief Birajit Sinha said that congress will come to power with highest turn out of votes in the municipal election.Taking the advantage of the EVM snag at different spot the ruling party cadres disrupted the free and fair process of election and adopted the process of vote rigging to cater vote in their favour, alleged Sinha.Altogether Congress has 272 candidates, 273 for left front and 255 of BJP candidates are into fray for the election and a total 5, 24,612 electorates will decide the fate of the aspiring candidates in the state.

The poll began peacefully at 7 AM and with the progress of the day the process of the vote cast gained momentum and the vote percentage touched the margin of 92 percent by the end the poll.

Tripura records a total of about 92 percent of vote cast with the end of the poll on Wednesday. The sources confirmed that the state wide polls to Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats made a record with 92 percent turnout in the municipal election.

However, it is to be mentioned here that the polling session was completed in peaceful circumstances and there is no report of any major untoward incident except some minor EVM malfunctioning in few spots.

However, with the end of the poll all the political party are hopeful to win the election.
