70% polling till evening 3PM : SDM Manik Lal Das talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): Tripura records a total of about 70 percent of vote cast till 3PM on an average rate says SDM Manik Lal Das. Talking to TIWN correspondent SDM Manik Lal Das said that so far till 3 PM vote margin stands at around 70 percent in the state wide polls to Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats.

He also said that the margins will definitely go high by evening 5 PM as large numbers of people are waiting in the polling centres to cast their votes in favour of their candidates.

He further said that the trend of the voting percent shows that by evening 5 PM the margin will go up to 90 percent and he also assured that there is no report of any untoward incident from any part of the state.  

The poll began peacefully at 7 AM and with the progress of the day the process of the vote cast gained momentum and the vote percent margin till evening stands at around 70 percent in the state.

However, it is to be mention here that the poll session is undergoing in peaceful circumstances and there is no report of any untoward incident and it is expected that there is no institution of any occurrence of any untoward incident.

However all the political party have full hope and faith to win the election.

Altogether Congress has 272 candidates, 273 for left front and 255 of BJP candidates are into fray for the election and a total 5, 24,612 electorates will decide the fate of the aspiring candidates in the state.

A total of 6,600 security personnel are deployed to conduct free and fair election. As the authority is looking forward to conduct safe election in the state, the state administration has geared up with all safety measures.

In order to ensure free and fair civic elections in Tripura, the Union Home Ministry sanctioned the deployment of 15 companies of Central Para Military Forces (CPMF) for election duties and the force has also arrived in the state.

Security measures have tightened across the state and the deployed security personnel are keeping strict eye for the peaceful conduct on the municipal election.
