KAMALPUR, Dec 9 (TIWN): The casting of votes of ongoing Civic poll in the state triggered different views of different political parties in North, Unakoti and Dhalai district. The ruling and dominant CPI-M party claimed the process of voting as vote-festivity which became a tradition in the state. On the contrary, the opposition parties condemned it as a mere show. While talking to TIWN, the political leaders expressed their different views.
CPI-M Sub-divisional Secretary and MLA from Surma Assembly Constituency demanded, “The voters are expressing their rights in festive moods. The tradition of vote-utsav in very clear in this vote too. We hope to gain the power once again and this time we will have a land sliding 11-0 victory.”
The Congress District President and former MLA Manoj Kanti Deb expressed, “People have gathered in front of the polling booths to cast their right. The hooliganism and terror by the CPI-M and the inactiveness of the administration have made the scenario grave. Still we hope to be in the power this time.”
While interacting, BJP leader Prasanta Sinha said, “The CPI-M cadres have completely demolished the environment of free and fair election. The role of administration has intensified the problem more. And still people have queued to cast their votes.”
It remained significant that, the administration of so-called ‘golden regime’ failed to overcome the party loyalty to gift a truly free and fair election this time also.
