Tripura CM casts vote, express confidence for victory

AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): Expressing confidence that the Left Front Party would get an absolute majority in the state, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Wednesday casted his vote at the polling station of Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School.

Along with the Chief Minister of Tripura, other authority of the ruling party and the left front cadres also casts their vote.

From morning onward people were observed queued up to cast their votes. Both the queue of men and women witnessed in extended queue to cast their votes.

Besides, vehicles and other public transports were witnessed less in the morning hours as everyone were witnessed busy to cast their vote.  

It is to be mentioned here that for the first time CM Manik Sarkar has addressed 24 gathering, aiming to urge vote for the left front party.

Only to brainwash the mind of people ahead of election and woo the people for gaining votes in favour of left front, CM Manik Sarkar to kick start the poll rallies from Thursday. 

Eyeing forward to strengthen their base for the upcoming assembly 2018, CM Manik Sarkar has started preparation to clearly sweep victory in full swing.

According to the reports, for 291 seats in the upcoming municipal election, altogether 657 polling booths were set up. Besides, the total number of Candidates are 886, among them 272 candidates are of Congress, 273 are of Left Front and 255 candidates are of BJP.

A total of six candidates each are contesting election from Forward bloc, RSP and CPI. Apart from this, for the Municipal election 32 candidates are contesting from Trinamool Congress Party, one from CPI-ML, Amra Bangali- 17 and five candidates from Tripura People’s Party.

Reportedly, the total numbers of voters are 5, 24, 612 and the election has commenced at 7 am in the morning.

However, as part of security measure, a total of 86 mobile vans will be guarding on the day of election. Besides, the polling personnel will leave for the booths by Tuesday. The counting of vote has scheduled to be conducted on December 12.

Besides, in order to ensure free and fair election 6, 600 security personnel have been deployed all across the state.

Campaigning of the political parties has been completed by December 7.

However, it has to be mentioned here that till morning the election has been observed peaceful.
