CPI-M hooligans atempt to disrupt peaceful vote casting, CPI-M anti-social elements seen with arms in voting booths : Congress leaders talk to TIWN

AGARTALA, December 9 (TIWN): During the peak hour of election, allegation has been raised by the Congress against the CPI-M that some CPI-M hooligans tried to disrupt the peaceful cast of vote at ward number 34.The incident took place at the polling booth 1, 2 and 8 of ward number 34.The CPI-M hooligans tried to jam the polling station, in order to create disrupt the peaceful environment of the area, said Youth Congress Leader Vicky Prasad while talking to TIWN correspondent. Narrating about the incident, Youth Congress Leader Vicky Prasad mentioned that the CPI-M hooligans was trying to spoil the peaceful environment for prolonged many days but as they did not get any chance till day, on the day of election the hooligans instigated this situation. However, alongwith Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress (TPYC) leader Vicky Prasad, TPYC President Sushanta Chowdhury and other supporters were also present over there. Earlier Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman mentioned that the Left Front supporters instigated the attack with sharp weapons. Reacting on the mute role of the authority over the attack, the Khowai District Congress Committee boycotted Khowai Nagar Panchayat election today .However, Left Front hopes for smooth and peaceful election today. Besides, Cong leaders also slammed the role of Tripura Police under Manik’s regime saying that the Khowai Police had instantly refused to provide security to the Congress supporters when they went to the police asking for help.
