Polling starts in full swing across the state

AGARTALA, Dec 9 (TIWN): The long awaiting civic polling has been kicked off across the state.

 After huge campaigns accomplished by political parties, the time has come when common people are selecting their candidates.In every subdivisions common people are in long queues to give their votes. Through voting, people enjoy their constitutional rights to choose own govt. Doesn’t matter how much campaigns are done and how much the candidates had begged votes in their door to door campaign, but the fate of the candidates will be drawn today.

However, behind the scenery of peaceful and organized voting so many govt. officials are involved whose dedications have set the polling centres. In altogether  657 polling booths are set up. Total 291 seats are reserved for the candidates and the total number of Candidates are 886.

According to the reports, in total 5, 24, 612 voters are giving votes. The voting in various polling centres have been started at 7 pm already.

Moreover,  twenty Returning Officers and 25 Observers have been appointed while altogether 18 counting halls have been established. A total of 3,300 polling personnel are appointed for the municipal election.
