AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): Vote cast through postal ballot for about 2300 polling personnel’s those who are engaged in polling work about 200 people missed their vote cast.
The sources confirmed that about 200 polling personnel engaged in the polling work, including Police officers and teachers of state schools didnot cast their vote through postal ballot for those who were.
However, the reason behind such a drop in vote cast through postal ballot irked question among the people.
The reason behind the drop is not yet known.
However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
As per the reports, counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place on December 12. Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.
The final photo voter lists for the ensuing Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats is announced by state election department. Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayat samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayat is also announced.
With just counting days left for the Municipal election which is slated to be conducted on December 9 political parties are campaigning with full efforts to sweep in the election.
None of the political parties are willing to miss a scope to promote their party candidates to the people ahead of municipal election.
Left front, Congress, BJP all the party has simply geared up for the election campaign to woo the voters ahead of municipal election.
