AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): Professional Sales Representatives Union on Saturday organized two-day long 27th General Body meeting (6th Biennial) at IMA house.
Governor Tathagata Roy has inaugurated the programme.
Delegates from different parts of the country also attended the programme to analyze the present hard – pressed conditions of the formal and non – formal workers in general and the sales promotion employees in particular and shall decide the future course of struggle to combat the situation.
On this occasion a mega blood and eye donation camp has been organized on Saturday.
Speaking in the programme, Governor Tathagata Roy said that blood cannot be manufactured in the factory. One person can help another by donating blood. Therefore, people should come up any donate their blood so that the needy person can be cured.
Appreciating the initiative taken by the association, Governor Tathagata Roy said that there is no alternative of blood. He appealed to donate blood as much as possible as there is no substitute for human blood.
Besides, he also urged to continue with this kind of social activities so that the people can be helped.
Highlighting the precaution about the blood transfusion, Governor mentioned that before donating blood it should be tested properly so that diseases do get transfer from one patient to another.
Besides, a street rally will be organized in the morning to mark the programme on December 6. Detailing about the number of donors it has been mentioned that altogether 66 people have donated blood and 42 has donated eyes posthumously.
