AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): With much of enthusiasm the Tripura Road Transport Road Corporation (TRTC) has launched the Agartala – Guwahati bus service before Durga Puja.Talking to TIWN correspondent Transport Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik said that due to some technical faults the bus service has been stopped on the route and initiatives are underway to resume the bus service in the route. However, according to report, the new AC bus procured by TRTC for the route hardly gave service twice to Guwahati after its inauguration and since then the service was stopped. The service is allegedly stopped after getting complains from passengers, as the so called deluxe bus is not fit for journey in the route. The bus lacks journey facilities as AC was fitted in normal bus. The passengers need comfortable bus seat while travelling long journey but it is seen that the seat arrangement in the bus is unscientific and passengers did not find any comfort. For this the passengers are not willing to travel by the bus. As a result, passengers have to travel by double fare by private buses and other vehicles. Although the TRTC authority are aware of the issue and despite of knowing everything they are not taking any action for the renovation of the bus.The Agartala – Guwahati bus stopped on October 16 and after two months the bus service did not resume.
