AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): With the aim to give a new look to the Agartala railway station along with BG conversion wok at Tripura, facelift work of Agartala railway station is undergoing in full swing at Badarghat railway station.

Numbers of workers are engaged in the renovation work of the Agartala railway station.

Days are not so far when Tripura will be connected with the map of Broad-gauge railway network system.

The old platform has been broken and new platform are being constructed to accommodate the train.

In a move to ease congestion and to accommodate more number of trains, a new platform is undergoing construction at Agartala railway station.

To strengthen the traffic system, parking plot is scheduled to be constructed and one has to pay for parking vehicles at the entry of the station. To maintain safety and security of the platform the authorities is taken this decision. However, the rail authority is not willing to construct an alternative entry gate to the station but it is necessary for emergency purpose and also to avoid the chaos at one particular gate.

Along with this, the authority is assured to keep a steam engine at the premises of the railway station to maintain the history; there will also be a flower garden along with a new parking place, and meter gauge coach at the entrance of the railway station.

The long awaited dream of Broad-gauge conversion works are going in full swings at various railway tracks of Agartala.

After the successful BG (broad gauge) run of train from Lumding to Silchar the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard at much more faster pace to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016.

The successful run of the trains on the broad-gauge track will bring sync with those in the rest of the country and Tripura is gearing up for faster connectivity and communication with several parts of the nation.

In order to make the Agartala Railway Station as perfect station, different works including extension of platforms, creation of new platforms and installation of new BG rail tracks have been started. As part of Mega block, the BG conversion works are also going on in full swing in Agartala railway station.

However, cross bridges over the rail line at every platform of the rail stations will also be constructed to ensure free movement of the passengers and to avoid any untoward incident.

With the introduction of the BG facility, Tripura will get connected with the other part of the nation easily.
