Tight security arrangements of Electronic Voting Machines

AGARTALA, Nov 29 (TIWN): Security arrangements of Electronic Voting Machines for the upcoming election have been done on Sunday in the presence of representatives of different political parties and delegates at Umakanta old building.

It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming civic poll slated to be held onDecember 9. 

It has been mentioned that the sealing of the EVMs will be done on December 2 in the presence of representatives of different political parties and delegates.

So far the testing of EVMs has been completed.

Preparation is on the peak for the up-coming civic poll and as a part of administrative routine, altogether Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) is being scrutinized by the officials for the smooth cast of votes during the civic polls.

To ensure greater transparency and avoid confusion in the minds of voters, the Election Commission has decided that electronic voting machines (EVMs) would henceforth display images of the contestants along with their names and party symbols.

The new system would help the voters to avoid confusion about the concern candidates and would also help the voters to easily indentify the candidate. It has been implemented from the last Bi-election.

According to the poll panel notification, the implementation of new system is compulsory. The photograph of the concern candidates should be of stamp size with white or off-white background. The photo in colour or black and white is acceptable from the concern candidate.

Reportedly, keeping eye on the upcoming elections the ruling party leaders all set with their tours of key seats across the area, combining positive messages with warnings about the consequences of their opponents taking power.

Ruling party with a goal to win the election begins to encourage various schemes which are beneficial for the unemployed and the poor.

Besides, the opposition party are raising voice against the corruption in the state under the ruling Government. They are protesting every after few days with various burning issues and busy in highlighting the corruption occurred in the left rule.
