AGARTALA, Nov 26 (TIWN): To mark the celebration of 'Samvidhan Divas' on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar, a rally has been organized on Thursday from the ground of Umakanta Academy.
The young Indian artistic gymnast Dipa Karmakar and her Coach Bisweswar Nandi also participated in the programme.
The rally walked across the capital and again assembled at the Umakanta Academy.
It is to be mentioned here that on November 26, Constitution was adopted and is observed as 'Samvidhan Divas' as a step towards spreading awareness about the life of its chief architect B R Ambedkar.
It has been decided every year on this day school children will be taught about constitution and Dr Ambedkar.
However, the programme has been organized for the run of justice, equality, fraternity and liberty.
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born in the year 1891 on April 14, popularly known as Babasaheb. He was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer.
He campaigned against social discrimination against Untouchables (Dalits), while also supporting the rights of women and labour. He was Independent India's first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
Nationwide celebrations also begin today to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar.
