KAMALPUR, Nov 25 (TIWN): The devotional and traditional extravaganza of Bishnupriya Manipuri community, the Maharasjatra festival is to conclude this afternoon. After three days of pomp, gaiety and celebration, the annual observation would conclude for a year.

This evening the Maharas jatra would be inaugurated by the RD Minister Naresh Jamatia. People of this community started to gather from yesterday from different parts of the state and the north-east to witness the greatest religious performance of their community. The whole night they would witness and enjoy the traditional Rakhal Nritya, Gopi Nritya and Raaslila in three mandaps. The businessmen gathered her also hoped to have some profit this evening as the first three days they not earned much. This year the gathering of commoners also decreased significantly. The biggest celebration of the community in the north-east ceased to attract people since last few years. And the organizing committee failed to trace the reason behind it yet.

It remained noteworthy that, the four day’ long celebration was inaugurated on 22^nd Novemeber last by the MLA Anjan Das.
