AGARTALA, Nov 24 (TIWN): Keeping an eye on the ensuing Municipal election, mock poll drills are being conducted regularly for smooth conduct of the election which is slated to be held on Dec 9.
The polling officer and the observer are asked to ensure the Commencement of Poll at the mentioned hours, send reports of Poll Commencement to Sector Office, send Periodical Reports on Votes Cast, to instruct the Police Force as the Situation demands, to declare Close of Poll on the given time, to supervise proper sealing and to hand over Sealed & Open Materials.
State police force and TSR will be deployed for the smooth conduct of the Municipal elections, which is slated to be held on December 9.
The process involved training for administering polling process, instructions of EVM sealing through video learning tools etc.
Nomination submission, scrutiny and withdrawal of nomination are already complete.
However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
State chief election commissioner told reporters here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12. Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.
The final photo voter lists for the ensuing Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats is announced by state election department. Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayat samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayat is also announced.
Along with the mock poll for Agartala Municipal Corporation wards the mock poll for the Bisalgarh, Teliamura and Udaipur, Ambassa, Ranir Bazar has also began.
