KAMALPUR, Nov 19 (TIWN): The ensuing Nagar Panchayat poll turned interesting as the BJP candidates filed their nominations for 5 seats among the 11 wards of Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat here today. The BJP leadership announced last night that they would file nominations for the Nagar Panchayat poll. Among 11 they announced to file nominations for 7 to 8 seats on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the party leadership arranged a colorful rally around 11-30 am and proceeded to the Returning Officer’s office with their candidates. They came to file nominations for seats numbers 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, and 11. However as the candidate for seat number 10, Smt. Kabita Bhadra not arrived, hence five candidates filed their nominations for BJP. The leadership hinted to file the rest of the nominations tomorrow. The candidates who filed their nomination today for BJP were:- wardno.-1=> Umakanta Debnath; ward no.-2=> Smt. Dipti Bhowmik; ward no.-4=> Smt. Swapna Das (Pal); ward no.-9=> Dipen Baidya; ward no.-11=> Prabindra Das.

However, the tripartite contest would surely provide huge gain to ruling CPI-M in the ensuing poll.
