AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Tripura along with 13 other State has participated in the first ever WMBF INDIA National Muay Boran Championship, held at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium,Mysore, Karnataka on November 7 and 8.
The states are Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, West Bangal, Maharastra, Delhi, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Pondicherry and Gujarat.
Reportedly, Team Tripura has performed well. Team Maharastra got Team champion and Team Kerala got Runners up.
The championship was hosted by Muay Boran Association of Karnataka and sanctioned by Muay Boran Association of India, MBAI which is affiliated to World Muay Boran Federation, WMBF H.Q Bangkok, Thailand.
Around 250 participants including 50 to 70 women from different parts of the country have taken part in the championship organised by the Muay Baron Association of Karnataka.
The competitions held in different categories including cadets, sub junior, junior, youth, and senior levels. Boys and girls have been classified into different categories depending on their age and weight.
The participants who got Gold medals are officially selected for World Championship to be held in March 2016 in Thailand.
