AGARTALA, Nov 9 (TIWN): Tripura’s senior journalist Sujit Chakraborty has been chosen for the National Award for “Excellence in Journalism for 2015â€. The President Mr Pranab Mukherjee will hand over the award on the occasion of National Press Day on November 16 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
According to the reports, The Press Council of India (PCI) has announced the winners of its national awards for excellence in journalism for 2015.
Sujit Chakraborty of Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) Vinoy Mathew of Matrubhumi were named joint winners in the developmental reporting and rural journalism category. Press Trust of India (PTI)s Shahbaz Khan was selected for the award for photo-journalism in single news picture category, while Tashi of Indian Express bagged the honour in the photo feature category.
Sujit Chakraborty, who heads the IANS Tripura bureau, won the Press Council of India's National Award for Excellence in Journalism in the category of Rural Journalism and Developmental Reporting.
Born in February 24, 1962 Sujit Chakroborty studied in MBB College under Calcutta University. He is an excellent journalist, and as well as experienced too.
