AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress is going to declare the list of candidates for the Municipal elections soon, said Tripura Pradesh Trinamool congress committee President (in-charge) Dulal Das on Sunday in a party meeting at TMC camp office.
Speculations are high that relatives of many heavy weights TMC leader might get a birth for the election.
TMC has called a party meeting, to finalize the list. TMC state President Surajit Datta is expected to attend the meet.
However, with the aim to fight the municipal election and to select candidates for the election, TMC has sat up a 7 member team of advisory committee with Radheshyam Saha being the convenor of the party.
However, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool congress committee President (in-charge) Dulal Das said that as the party working President Surajit Das is out of station for last few days the party is delaying the process of candidate selection to fight for the Municipal election. The party is scheduled to declare the names of the candidates soon, added Das.
He also said that the party is looking forward to invite trinamool leaders for the campaigning before the polls.
The last date for making nomination is on November 19 and the scrutiny will be done on the following day. Last date for the withdrawal of the nomination is set on November 23.
However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
State chief election commissioner told reporters here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12. Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.
