AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): keeping eye on the ensuing municipal election, where left front has already declared the names of the candidates for the poll and has began the campaign, Pradesh congress president Biranjit Sinha is schedule to hold meeting with party members on Nov 8 and 9 to decide the names of the candidates to fight for the civic polls.

According to the sources the party would declare the names of the candidates for the AMC’s 49wards on nov 10.

It is to be mentioned here that as the party chief Birajit Sinha was in jail in allegation of violation of administrative order the party could not hold any meeting to decide the names of the candidates for the ensuing polls.

Sinha is already released from Jail on Nov6 and is scheduled to hold meeting with party members to decide the candidates name for the election by nov 10.

The last date for making nomination would be on November 19 and the scrutiny will be done on the following day. Last date for the withdrawal of the nomination would be on November 23.

However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.

State chief election commissioner told reporters here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12.  Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.

However, BJP is also yet to declare the name of the candidates for the civic polls and is scheduled to declare soon.
