AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): Among all the 49 seats in the ensuing Municipal election, CPI-M will be fighting for 42 seats. It has been mentioned that three seats have been allotted to CPI, whereas, RSP and Forward Bloc have been allotted with two seats each. Meanwhile, alliance partner of CPI-M – CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc have earlier demanded an increase in their seats in AMC area. However, a dispute is noticed among the alliance parties of the RSP CPI and Forward bloc with the introduction of the new faces in the civic polls. Senior CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar accompanied by CPI-M central committee leader Gautam Das announced the name of the Left front candidates for 49 wards which includes names of old faces like Krishna Majumder, Haripada Chakraborty, Fulan Bhattacharjee wife of late former AMC chairperson Sankar Das, incumbent deputy mayor Samar Chakraborty, Mira Biswas, Abhijit Bhattacharjee and Gita Das. However, with the introduction of the new faces the CPI-M comrade of the Rishipara at Aralia has called for election boycott.

A hidden clash is witnessed among the members of the alliance party. The leaders of the Aralia rishi colony have alleged discrepancy in the selection of the candidates in the municipal election and they have called for election boycott.

Apart from the rishi colony, several disputes are also witnessed at different parts of the state which did not come into front but there are several grudges in the mind of the people.

Reportedly, the model of conduct shall come into force with the immediate effect from Thursday.

State chief election commissioner told reporters here that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12.  Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.

The final photo voter lists for the ensuing Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats is announced by state election department. Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayat samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayat is also announced.

It has to be mentioned here that the last date for making nomination would be on November 19 and the scrutiny will be done on the following day. Last date for the withdrawal of the nomination would be on November 23.

However, the Municipal election will held on December 9 and the counting will be conducted on December 12.
