NFR GM visits Agartala Railway station, BG conversion work likely to get completed by November, says NFR GM Jaggi

AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): On a four day Visit to Tripura North Eastern Frontier railway GM H.K.Jaggi visited the Agartala railway station at the morning hours on Friday under west district and expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work for BG conversion and also claimed that track laying work to get completed by November.Speaking to media, Jaggi further said that the work progress shows that the Tripura will be soon connected with BG railway service and if the work goes in such pace the nega block work of BG conversion will be completed by November.BG Conversion work is running in scheduled time and the conversion work at Agartala railway station is going on in full swing. He also added that rail service will began in Tripura by 31st March 2016 positively.However, as a part of his visit he also visited Sekerkot station along with the other NFR officials including S I Garud and Harpal Singh. He also took a note of all the important spots which is necessary to boost the BG Conversion work.

General Manager H K Jaggi also took a trolley service from Agartala railway station to Kumarghat station and from Kumarghat he will also go to Dharmanagar to check the work progress. However, to take a note of the work progress he will also make a visit to Silchar.

During his trolley service he will also take a note of work progress at Jirania and Teliamura and other essential spots.

On November 6, the General Manager is scheduled to visit Silchar to inspect the BG work progress.

The team led by GM of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) HK Jaggi also visited the road over bridge No: 33 on NH44 of Agartala-Udaipur section of Agartala-Sabroom new line project.  The team also inspected the blanketing manufacturing plant and bridge no 112 on Gomoti River on Thursday.

Apart he also confirmed that the BG conversion work between Lumbding and silchar had already been completed and goods train are running successfully on the track.

However, General Manager (Construction), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) R.K.Gupta in his visit to the state in the last month accompanied by S I.Garud Chief Administrative officer, Ajit Pandit NFR CAO Malingaon, Harpal Singh Chief Engineer, Rabindra Ram Chief Engineer and PB Sivaram Prasad CAO NFR also inspected the work progress of BG conversion work in the state and expressed satisfaction over the progress. 

Indian Railways connectivity in India’s north eastern region will get boost with the launch of the first ever broad gauge goods trains to Agartala. The latest trend of work at Agartala railway station shows that days are not so far when people of Tripura can travel long distances in BG trains and get connected to rest of the part of the country.
