AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Allegation has been raised against the authority of the ADC village of East-Takchai that despite of knowing the sufferance of the people residing on the area the authority is playing role of silent spectator.

Reportedly, people the East Takchai village are also suffering from acute water crisis. The residents had to walk miles to fetch a bucket of water or else they had to depend on the dirty water of the well in the area.

Despite complaining several times to the authority but assuring for several time no initiatives has been taken yet, said the locals. Though the water crisis has turned large but the authority has not taken any initiatives.

The locals complained that once they fetch 2 to 3 bucket of the water from the well, they had to wait for 3 to 4 hours to fetch another bucket of water. People of East Takchai, Sadhucharan Para, Koyang Bari and Madhu Gupta Para are has been facing this pathetic situation for prolonged many days.

However, despite of several complaints allegedly the authority is not taking any initiatives to save the people from this situation.

According to the locals, no water supply facilities are available in the locality for long period. As a result they face acute drinking water crisis especially in the dry spell.

Most of the residents are dependent on well water for their livelihood. But no water supply facilities has been offered to them by the concerned authority despite several requests, said a local.
