AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): In a meet with the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, NFR GM HK Jaggi said that the issues of constructing Road over bridge does not comes under the allocation of the NFR and need to be dealt by the state government or the central ministry.

Speaking with CM Manik Sarkar NFR GM HK Jaggi said that the BG work upto Udaipur would be completed by March 2016 while it will take two more years to connect Sabroom with the railway service.

Construction of the road over bridge and road under bridge were not included in the railway project, as these were not included in the projects the NFR does not have the allocations to take up that responsibility. NFR GM HK Jaggi further asked the state government to seek out the issue of the disputes at the various spots or else it may delay the BG conversion work at large.

It is to be mentioned here that the local people of Teliamura have stalled the BG conversion work at Teliamura in demand of road over bridge since October 1. Due to the strong confrontation from the side of the villagers BG conversion work could not be taken up at around 800 meter area of Teliamura and if this issues of constructing road over bridge and road under bridge are not solved it might delay the work progress, added Jaggi.

Apart, endeavours are set up for the wide gauge rail tracks in the middle of Agartala and Badarpur in Barak Valley as the Union ministry of environment and forests have delayed in giving environment clearance to lay tracks.

The stretch being referred to is a piece of Trishna natural life haven in South Tripura’s Belonia subdivision, which will defer work till Sabroom.

NFR sources confirmed that unless the environment clearance is given before the end of October, and the venture would not have the capacity to meet its due date of March 31, 2016.

Meter-gauge network in the middle of Agartala and Udaipur, as of now, exists yet new tracks of around 46km must be laid through woods ranges, including Trishna natural life asylum, to reach Sabroom, Tripura’s southernmost sub-division flanking the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.

NFR is likewise confronting an issue in changing over existing meter-gauge tracks into expansive gauge tracks over a stretch of around 800m in Teliamura subdivision on the grounds that local people are requesting an over bridge for walkers.
