Gandacharra: Poor condition of transportation hits villages

Gandacharra, Nov 6 (TIWN): The only source of the transportation in Indrajoy Para and its nearby Habitations under Gandacharra is through a bamboo made hanging bridge. Day after day the people are facing the threat of their existence while crossing the so-called bridge in this Manik golden era.

The situation becomes more critical during the rainy season. As during rain, the current of the river water rises to the peak and at any moment any accident can take place. Everyday large number of people passes through this bamboo pane over the bridge for different work purpose.  The villagers are deprived of major transportation and communication facility over last many years, says a resident of the area.

The school students, teachers mainly face the problem while walking over the bridge every day. The situation turns more dangerous when the bamboo pane collapses in the heavy rain. The only alternative option for the villagers in absence of the bamboo bridge is through the boat. Even sailing through boat becomes very risky during the rainy days as the boat may sink at any moment due to the current of the river water.

At every hour the villagers are spending their lives in fear, as at any moment they can lose their life while walking over the bamboo bridge or sailing in boat.

The localities alleged that they have reported the issue to the concerned authority but no action is taken. However, the helpless villagers have demanded for the construction of a Bridge for the easy access of transportation and communication in the coming days.
