AGARTALA, Nov 5 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing Municipal and Nagar Panchayat election, names of RSP candidates of AMC ward no. 10 and 38 has been finalized.

It has been decided that with the declaration of the voting day, the party will declare the final list of the candidates.

Meanwhile, alliance partner of CPI (M) – CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc are demanding increase in their sit in AMC area. Earlier they were given one sit each. Besides issues like final voter list and delimitation are also discussed in the meeting.

It is to be mentioned here that among the 14 seats of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc are stick to the demand of providing them one seat each.

According to the guideline of the State Committee, West Tripura Committee has already finalized the name of the candidates for AMC.

In 2010, congress party with no organization have won Sabroom and Ambassa Nagar Panchayat, it was taken as surprise by ruling CPI (M) party. This time the state committee will not take any chances, they want to win all urban bodies with thumping majorities.

Besides, the party is in difficult situation in selecting women candidates for the party due to 50 percent reservation for women. 

The tenure of urban bodies ends on December 21 next.  Before the end of tenure new elected bodies have to be formed.
