AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): Epitome- Bamboowood Flooring and Bamboowood Wall Cladding on Tuesday launched its first maiden products commercially at Gurkha Basti.
An invention of Bamboowood after processing the bamboo that offers sheen, durability and luxurious finish of hardwood, without the ecological damage.
The industry was set up in the year 2014 at Bodhjungnagar and on Tuesday it has launched it product commercially.
Appreciating the eco-friendly initiative taken by the Epitome, Industries & Commerce Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that this product is one of its maiden launched in Tripura. He further said that with launch of this product will not only keep the house eco-friendly but also will curb the rising deforestation.
Tripura is known for its Bamboo product and its production.
Epitome- Bamboowood offers flooring for the insides of house, decking for outdoors and cladding for that rich feel on walls-along with doors, door frames and stunning custom made furniture. The range of shades, textures and sheens are specially designed for an international feel that’s perfect for Indian conditions.
Bamboowood is a wood made from bamboo, it displays higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel. It has capabilities for higher compressive strength than many mixtures of concrete. It displays a higher strength to weight ratio than graphite. The high silica in bamboo makes it indigestible to termites.
However, as the Bamboo is by far the fastest growing natural resource in the world after it has been used for the furniture, can be grown easily. It grows to maturity in just 4-5 years- in contrast to a tree which take decades to mature.
During the programme, Forest Minister Naresh Chandra Jamatia, Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar and other were present at the programme.
