KAMALPUR, Nov 1, (TIWN): A depositor of NBFC Pilak Jyoti Social Welfare Organization namely Sajal Choudhury, a fruit vendor by profession became hopeless of getting back his deposited amount as after a considerable period of 14 days’ of lodging the complaint police failed to nab the accused who used to roam freely.
According to the complaint, some Alak Deb and Jogesh Shil of Pilak Jyoti Social Welfare Organization collected a sum of 2, 00, 000 rupees as security from Sajal for providing him a loan of 4, 00, 000 rupees. They also gave him two cheques of 4, 00, 000 rupees each. As the NBFC failed to give Sajal either the loan or the security, he deposited the cheques to the UCO Bank branch on 31/03/2015 and 5/5/2015 respectively. When both the cheques bounced he knocked the SDM’s court. SDM through his letter no. F.3(2)/SDM/KMP/IF/NBFC/2014/296-98 advised Sajal to put a complaint with the police against the accused under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act 1881. Accordingly, Sajal lodged complaint with police on 17th October last. But still police has adopted no steps against it.
